3 Ways to be Happier and more Joyful in life

I’ve just got back from a wonderful trip to Dubai and I’m feeling revived and refreshed, thank you Lord! It was a remarkable trip full of fun activities and learning new things.

In today’s blog post, I want to give you tips on how you can be happier and more joyful in your life. If you sometimes struggle to smile, if you often feel constantly anxious and uneasy or if you often feel stressed out and unable to enjoy your life then this blog post is for you:

“You’ve got to be happy, you’ve got to learn to enjoy the journey ” – Jim Rohn

1) Do something new:
Perhaps it’s time for you to try something new to bring back that bounce in your life. Try eating at a new restaurant, drive a different way home, change your fitness routine, visit a new city, visit a new country, socialise more. Doing the same old thing is often what makes us become unhappy so you need to shake up your routine now and then to make your life more exciting and less rigid.

2) Socialise and network:
Every once in a while go out and have fun! I love to go to prestigious events such as seminars, conferences, gala nights, weddings, social gatherings, award shows, church events and shows. There is nothing more fun than dressing up and going to great events. I also like going to places such as aquariums, museums, shopping, bowling, swimming and badminton. Where could you go to socialise and network? Write a list of a few places that you could attend over the next few months. Going out and enjoying yourself now and then will really lift your spirits and give you that joyful happy feeling!

3) Be grateful and express gratitude:
One of the best ways to be happier and joyful in life is to spend time writing down and thinking about the good things that have happened to you in your life and saying ‘thank you’ to all the people and companies that are a blessing in your life as often as possible! I always write thank you messages on my Facebook, I sometimes go out of my way to tell managers about the good service I receive from staff at shopping centres that I attend, I spend time praising God and worshipping him as he has done so many good things to is an for us! I believe in giving presents and sending cards! I am a very loving, caring and affectionate person and I think this has made me 10 times happier than most people because giving praise, love, gifts and affection only makes you feel good! It’s more blessed to give than to receive.

So there you go! 3 ways to increase your happiness and joy!

Leave me a comment below telling me what you often do to be happy and joyful in life! Or what other tips can you give to others that will read this blog post?

I can’t wait to hear from you!

Wishing you happiness and joy to the full 🙂

Vulnerability – Feel Good Blogging Challenge (Day 6)

Welcome to day 6 of the feel good blogging challenge! Alex has sent us the challenge to be somewhat vulnerable in this blog post! So here goes.

When I think of the word Vulnerability I think of two ways that I have allowed myself to be vulnerable! I will share them with you below:

1) Being on Camera:
Setting up a YouTube Channel and making videos for the world to see required some vulnerability from me. I had to decide to put myself out there knowing that people may laugh at me or think I’m not good enough or perhaps the reverse. I had to also consider how I would feel if I created such a big buzz and attention that I wasn’t sure that I was ready for. Putting myself out there has been mainly a pleasant experience. I have had the chance to share my success secrets, my talents, my advice and I have also made friends and connected with the wider community which has been valuable. But there have also been times where I do not enjoy editing videos and times and the times when technical problems arise to slow me down. But through it all I have discovered the beauty of consistency and patience 🙂

2) Speaking at Events:
This was another area that required vulnerability, because every time I gave a talk or presented a paper at a live event
I came face to face with crowds of people. Luckily, I very much enjoy speaking in front of live audiences but despite the fun factor this is another opportunity to invite people’s opinions, potential criticism or high levels of praise. Sometimes people praise you so much that you wonder if you are really good or if they are just blowing your trumpet and sometimes people try to challenge your school of thought or have their guard up and so you have to work harder to impress them. I have sometimes felt drained helping people and wonder why I bother as it can be very tiring at times. But what I have discovered through it all is my purpose and passion. I feel that I am called to help people in some way shape or form and I believe that what makes my work easier is leaning on God and relying on him for inner strength, power and inspiration. If I expect a reward from people I will be disappointed but if I expect a reward from God I will be highly satisfied because God rewards those that diligently seek him! so I thank God for using me and for giving me power to be a light to many. Hebrews 11: 6

What I have to teach you about being vulnerable:
– Be vulnerable if it means showing love
– Be vulnerable enough to do what you love even if no one supports you
– Do not look to man to give you what you want, look to God to give you what you want and need
– Do what you do because you genuinely want to help others not to get something in return
– Be vulnerable enough to show off your wonderful talents, don’t hide your talents away due to a fear of the public,
fear of success or the fear of failure
– Be vulnerable enough to just get out there and be the best version of you!

So now I would LOVE to hear moments when you have been vulnerable.
– How did it feel for you when you opened up?
– Did you ever feel embarrassed or slightly uncomfortable?
– Did you learn to be more bold and courageous?

I look forward to hearing from you! Simply leave me a comment below.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my blog.

10 Things that you don’t know about me! Fun Facts – Feel Good Blogging Challenge (Day 4)

Happy Saturday,

Today’s challenge from the wonderful Alex Beadon is for me to tell you 10 things about me that you might not know already! I thought that I would share some fun facts with you 🙂 Perhaps all you are used to only watching my videos on YouTube or reading my blog posts. Well now you have the chance to find out a little more than what you see!

1) My favourite fruits are Banana and Orange, (but in reality, I love so many fruits, fruits are so healthy and juicy)

2) My favourite makeup item is liquid eyeliner. My least favourite make up item is Mascara (this may really surprise many girls/women as this is usually the number one favourite makeup item).

3) I am a Christian, a lover of Christ, I read my bible pretty much everyday and spend time with God on a daily basis too!

4) I have met/seen at least 20 Celebrities in real life. This includes Katie Price,
Gwen Stefanie, Tulisa, Kelly Rowland, Solange Knowles, Tina Knowles, Gary Barlow, Richard Blackwood to name a few.

5) The best success book that I have ever read is ‘Push for Success’ by Saira Khan this book was a life-changing book for me (I have mentioned this many times)

6) My Academic advisor once told me to quit University and get a job. But today I have 2 degrees. My first degree is BA (hons) in Mass Communications and Sociology and a Masters degree in Education. Along with that I also have 20 other qualifications and speak at International Education Conferences in Bulgaria, Turkey.

7) My idea of a holiday is doing something sporty everyday! From water sports to football. Most people’s idea of a holiday is relaxing on a beach.

8) I used to study the dictionary and the thesaurus and this is one of the ways that I invested in myself and made myself more articulate and intelligent. Perhaps this is what led to me attracting many motivational speaking and presenting opportunities.

9) I have travelled to over 40 cities and states across the world, this includes: Vienna, Abuja, Portharcourt, Lagos, Venice, New York, Ohio, Istanbul, Cardiff, Swansea, Manchester, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Florence, Milan, Paris, Oxford, Kent, Yorkshire to name a few! The place that stood out to me the most was actually Blackpool as I couldn’t get over how people dressed there. I could spot all the people that were wearing the colours red, blue, yellow and white and every time I wore one of these colours at least 20 people would be wearing it on the streets too. I am not sure if it is still like that now but it was pretty interesting 🙂

10) I believe that Confidence is King and Charisma is Queen and without these two qualities you will find it really hard to stand out and shine in life. These two qualities can open so many doors of opportunity for you from job interviews to winning awards.

Bonus Fun Fact: I have this top in the picture below in approximately 20 different colours. I have some of these tops x 2 (i.e. I have two yellow tops in the same size and same colour)!

5 Ways to Stand out and Shine on Social Media – Feel Good Blogging Challenge (Day 3)

2

Welcome to day 3 of the feel good blogging challenge set by the beautiful Alex Beadon

Today my wonderful friend,
I want to encourage you to stand out on Social Media like never before.

– Do you feel that sometimes no one really cares about you on Social Media?
– Do you sometimes wonder what you can do or say to become more captivating to your ideal fans or clients
– Would you like to have thousands of views on your videos or more quality followers on twitter and Facebook?

If so this blog post is for you! I will share 15 top tips on what you can do to really attract the amazing opportunities that you want which includes publicity, meeting amazing people, connecting with divine connection, attracting wealth and abundance and so much more! I have used social media to promote my business UK’s Dazzling Beauty and now we have had over 1,000 guests that have attended our live events in over 2 years. How exciting is that!
You can go out there and do the same and even more!

1) Interact:
I want to encourage you to interact with people like never before. This means that you should leave comments on blog posts, like pictures on Facebook, like images on Instagram, RT interesting tweets on twitter and engage with your fans and followers! Get into a habit of showing your fans, friends, family and supporters some love. It is not about taking all the time. Its about giving too! So get busy socialising and networking on social media in the most authentic way and every social media platform that you have will grow and go to the next level.

2) Be Consistent:
If you want to stand out on social media like never before be consistent with how much you post. This can mean posting 10 times a day, 5 times a day, 2-3 times a week or uploading 1 video on YouTube a month. It doesn’t matter what you decide but it’s consistence that counts. I always find that when I am more consistent on YouTube or that when I am consistent in promoting UK’s Dazzling Beauty that I always seem to get more clients or more wonderful subscribers or followers.  Consistency creates the like-trust and know factor! When people feel this way about you they will bend over backwards to show you love. They need to feel like they can rely on you and once they do they will become a raving fan!

3) Upload Amazing Pictures:
Always take pictures and always upload amazing pictures to your Facebook, instagram, Twitter e.t.c. Make sure that the majority of your images are high resolution, good quality images and clear. Invest in a good quality camera if possible. I have a Canon 600D and I love it! I use it all the time for professional shoots and for filming my videos and at events. It is one of the best investments that I could have ever made. It it’s cheap but it is worth every penny! You can also use your iPad or iPhone to take pictures but make sure you take a few images and select the best ones. this especially works well with instagram. Avoid uploading blurry images, low quality images and images of you doing random silly things such as getting drunk, swearing as it won’t serve you and you will only stand out for all the wrong reasons on social media.

4) Post Inspirational Quotes:
One of the best ways to stand out on social media is to be totally inspirational! I want you to get into a habit of inspiring people with inspirational quotes. I am pretty much obsessed with the topic of Success. I call myself as Success Coach and I have been listening to audio programmes, reading books and watching videos on success for years and years! So I like to post success quotes and motivational quotes. Perhaps you are in the fashion industry so you can post fashion related inspirational quotes or maybe you are a lover of Law and so why not post content on the latest law articles or encouragement for aspiring lawyers.

5) Share Exciting news:
I always love sharing GOOD NEWS on Facebook! I do this at least once or twice a week! People don’t really like to hear bad news and they are constantly bombarded with the negative reports in the news on a daily basis so try to avoid being one of these people that that adds to this cycle of negativity (I am not saying that life is perfect and that we should sing the happy song all day long) but make it your duty to add sunshine into the lives of your followers, lovers and friends. Update them with exciting events that you have attended, amazing images from your holidays and adventures, amazing client testimonials, press releases, upcoming events, competitions, launches of products and services and even new videos or blog posts. Be a light in the world that shines so brightly.

6) Follow great people, great companies and great magazines:

You will never shine on Social Media as much as you are supposed to if you are not surrounded by greatness. You need to stop following all the junk mail that is out there and start following great people, great magazines and great companies such as Forbes, Terri Savelle Foy, Joel Osteen, Nike Air, Harrods, Gucci, Audi, Brian Tracy. Write down a list of at least 20 people, companies, magazines that are great and highly inspirational and follow every one of them. I also think it might be healthy to unfollow, unlike or delete really negative people or those that you just want to let go of. Sometimes to let in new things you must let go of bad things that are holding you back. I challenge you to come up higher!

Sooo there you go, I have given you 5 ways that you can really stand out and shine on Social Media.

Do you have any other ideas on how we can all take our social media platforms to the next level?
If please leave me a comment below and share your incredible tips and tricks.

I look forward to hearing from you 🙂

Many blessings

My Passion, My Story – Feel Good Blogging Challenge (Day 2)

My Passion

My passion in life is to achieve all of my dreams, goals and aspirations and to inspire people to go out there and do the same!

I follow my passion by singing, performing live, organising events, coaching, presenting speaking at events, I follow my passion by deciding to work for myself as an Entrepreneur! I am passionate about what I do in my life to help others.

I am on a million to accomplish greatness so I do not limit myself to doing one or two things in life! I want to do as many amazing things as I possibly can so that I can look back one day and say wow I achieved so many amazing things in my life.

I have had a few defining moments in my life! I will share a few with you:

Defining Moment 1: Working in a inspirational environment
I think that the day that I began to transform in my life was when I started working at Selfridges in Oxford Street, I started working here when I was about 19 years old. When I started working here it was as if a new door was open for me! I felt as if I finally was around the right people. I have always been extremely friendly, enthusiastic and optimistic but I just needed to be in the right environment to bring out more of these qualities within me and so it was great to be around people that were just like me! I love smiling at people, lighting up the lives of others by being encouraging and Selfridges had so many people working their with the same qualities. The company itself had high standards and values in relation to customer service which was also valuable to me! I met so many celebrities when I worked there and at events and this made me feel as if I was supposed to be a celebrity one day! I guess I am like a mini-celebrity in some way shape of form (so I am told) but the most important thing for me is being a blessing to people and serving God.

Defining Moment 2: Changing my course at University
Another life changing moment for me was when I was studying at University. I was doing a course that I disliked immensely and I finally changed my course and my whole life changed. I graduated with a degree in Mass Communications and Sociology then I went back to University about a year later after working for a great company and completed my Masters degree in Education, I graduated in 2007. While I was at University studying my 1st degree, I started reading books on Success and the book that really changed my life was the book called ‘Push for Success’ by Sara Khan 1st runner up of the Apprentice Series One. I was so amazed by what she did to achieve success that it pushed me to do more than ever before! This book was like my success bible. Because of this book I have travelled to over 22 cities across the UK and over 40 cities and states in total across the world! This would not have happened if God did not use Saira Khan’s book to transform my life. So I recommend that you run out and read it today!

You can check out my University story here:

Defining Moment 3: Competing in Beauty Pageants and Becoming a Pageant Director

I actually created a Podcast on my Beauty Pageant Story: It is all about how I won many awards, crowns and titles and how I set up my pageant business UK’s Dazzling Beauty from scratch in 2012 and turned it into a thriving business! You can click on the link below to listen to it:

Thanks so much for reading my blog post!

Please leave me a comment below and tell me what your passion is and a sentence or two on your story!
I can’t wait to hear from you 🙂

See you tomorrow.

Welcome to my latest blog post,

I am a big lover of Alex Beadon and I noticed that she has a great new blogging challenge going on so I thought that I would do this wonderful challenge! I will be blogging for 7 days in a row 🙂 This blog post I answer the key questions that Alex asks us to answer in our blog, hope you enjoy it 🙂

1) Who are you?

I would describe myself as inspirational, lively, creative, multi-talented and a big dreamer! I love helping people to achieve their dreams. I love seeing people reach their full potential in life! IMG_0405

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging as I love reaching out to people, encouraging them and helping them to achieve greatness! I have learnt so much over the years and so I wanted to share this knowledge with others and not be stingy with what God has taught me through incredible success mentors such as the amazing Alex Beadon, Terri Savelle Foy, Brian Tracy,
Marie Forleo to name a few!

I also have another Blog which is all related to my Beauty Pageant, I blog a lot more on this as it’s my business blog:
http://www.uksdazzbeauty.com

Who is your blog for?
My blog is for QueenChiomaLovers, being on YouTube and on TV has exposed me to many fans so this is just a way of giving back to my community, friends, family and followers. I also want to help entrepreneurs and people to become more successful as I know what it is like to be on a journey of reaching for your dreams and sometimes you don’t always get the encouragment that you desire to have so this is my way of giving my followers the encouragement that they need!

What is something that you have been working on that you are really proud of?
First of all, My pageant that I set up in 2012, It’s called UK’s Dazzling Beauty. I have been working on my business for the past 3 years and I am proud of have attracted hundreds and hundreds of clients and built some wonderful relationships too. I organise live beauty pageant events across the UK (mainly the South of England). I also organise pageant and modelling training workshops. I have organised over 30 events in the last 3 years! My dream is to have over 65 Grand Finalists competing at our competition in November 2014! It’s been an amazing experience so far meeting people from all over the UK.
You can see more about my pageant UK’s Dazzling Beauty here: www.uksdazzlingbeauty.com

Uks Dazzling Beauty Grand Final imageIMG_1319

Secondly, I have started free networking events for female entrepreneurs. I have hosted about 5 or 6 meetings so far, the last one was on Monday. We meet once a month. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to be able to mastermind and network with women who are working on their businesses just like me. I can’t wait to see this project bloom and grow. Perhaps this time next year I will have 50-200 women attending the meetings, seminars and workshops.

Thirdly, building my YouTube Channels, I work really hard creating videos on a weekly basis. I also have a online radio show on BlogTalk Radio called QueenChiomaShow (A Motivational/Success show) and I have two podcast shows on SoundCloud
queenchiomasuccessshow and uks-dazzling-beauty (pageant advice and modelling advice for Beauty Queens and Models)

I can’t thank God enough for these platforms and for the opportunities that he gives me to bless people with words of encouragement.

What’s the ONE MESSAGE that you how people take away from your blog?
You can achieve all of your dreams, goals and aspirations. You do not have to limit yourself to using just one or two of your talents, You can do as many things as you want as long as you manage your time and talents effectively!

I have always been a big dreamer and someone that wanted to do it all. Every time that I tried to focus on one talent i.e. Singing a new skill and talent would come out of me i.e. TV Presenting. I found that I kept being good at different things and people would book me for whatever they wanted to book me for. Some people would book me to sing at their events, some people would say ask me to Host their event, some would ask for advice on how to achieve a Masters degree, some would ask for Pageant Training Sessions! I came to the conclusion that I don’t have to focus on just one thing! I can develop my biggest talents and do great things in life but it would take hard work, consistency and excellent time management

So I want my blog and all of my videos to inspire people to go out there and live their dreams!

I stand by this inspirational, life-changing quote by Jennifer Lopez
“I would want to represent that you can do anything you wanna do, you’ve gotta believe in yourself and trust in your gut, I just always follow my gut feeling. We’re capable of multiple things, amazing things. You don’t have to be just a singer or just a painter or just …. you can be all of it, you can do anything and you can do it as big as you wanna do it. No body stops you but you” – Jennifer Lopez

This video below of Jennifer Lopez’s story and life inspires me to go for my dreams, it demonstrates that no matter what happens you can make it if you never give up! Determination is the key:

So now it’s your turn! Leave a mini comment below and tell me who you are and why you do what you do in life?

I look forward to hearing from you wonderful you 🙂

Thanks for reading!
